Over the last weekend, in the town I live in, we have a Jamboree.
Over hundreds of people, tractors, vendors, and cars flock to what is called
"Prairie Village". It’s a “town” of sorts where buildings have been moved in to
set up a small town. Some of these buildings are from as far back as the 1800’s.
It’s a very cool place to go and see how people use to live before technology
and the internet.
Every year they feature a different tractor and this year it
just happened to be the International Harvester. The Jamboree features parades,
the largest flea market in the area, over 700 antique tractors, antique car
show, horse & steam powered threshing, saw mill & machinery
demonstrations, tractor pulls, wagon trains, railroad roundhouse and turntable
demonstrations, train & carousel rides, evening dinner train, musical
entertainment, exhibits, food and family fun.
My dad and I usually make it out there for at least one of
the days. We have our usual, blooming onion and Homemade Root Beer float, not
to mention a lot of water!
Here are a few other pictures from the days festivities!! Enjoy!
