Lemon Sugar Face Scrub!

I always try and find different DIY things to do

so naturally when I watched Kandee Johnson on YouTube I was like.. "Yup gotta try that!"

If you want take a gander at her video Kandee Johnson Lemon sugar face scrub

So first you're going to take all your makeup off

Here's what you need

If you have a real lemon use that instead, but since I didn't have one I just used lemon juice.

You'll also need sugar, I used Organic cane sugar.

Since you're using this on your face you want to make sure you're using good products. I found these packets at Target, but you just want to make sure you're using organic.

You're going to use a cotton round pad

Squirt some lemon juice on the round then sprinkle some sugar on it.

Kinda spread it around a little so it soaks up the lemon juice.

Then, rub it in a circular motion all over your face.

When you're done massaging it into your face for a while, make sure you get every inch of your face, wash it off with a warm cloth.

Your face will feel AMAZING.

Freshly washed and feels super soft!

Hope you try this and absolutely love it like I do!!

Let me know if you try it and what you think of it.

Hugs!

Lip Exfoliators

Elf vs. Mary Kay
OKAY let’s face it you don’t spend a lot of time exfoliating your face let alone your lips. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t take as much time as you think it does!
The only time I use to exfoliate my lips was when I noticed my lipstick was starting to gum up and not look as smooth, or when I noticed my lips were peeling or chapped.

Now I do it EVERYDAY!
I kid you not!!
I found this product, thanks to Kassie (ShadesofKassie) on YouTube, which is by far that best and easiest form of lip exfoliator!
It’s the Lip Exfoliator by ELF

This gently removes dry chapped skin with a sugar sweet and smoothing sensation. Infused with vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba oil to nourish and protect.
This stuff smells amazing like caramel and coffee.
You just wet your lips then rub this on and let it soak in. By the time your done with your hair and finished with the rest of your makeup it has soaked in and you're ready to apply your lipstick.

MaryKay Satin Lips

I like this a lot to. This was the product I used before I found the ELF Lip Exfoliator.
It’s can be a one or two step process depending on if you want to use the Lip balm after.
To use this product you put some on your finger and then apply to your lips in a circular motion and let soak in 1-2 minutes. Then wipe off with a damp cloth.
It smells good and it’s more of a mask than the ELF Exfoliator.

Over all these are two exfoliators are the best I've tried so far.

Check them out and let me know what you think!
I'd love to hear your thoughts, too! If there are any exfoliators you like let me know I'd love to try them!

Hugs!

New Favorite Eye Shadows!!

New Favorite Eye Shadows!

For the longest time I’ve only used Mary Kay Eye shadows. They're wonderful and I have nothing bad to say about them.  Frankly, I wasn’t sure if I could find others that are as pigmented as the Mary Kay ones.
I’m glad to say I have found some that I LOVE!!
Don't get me wrong I still use the Mary Kay ones, I just have a lot more options now!

Let’s dive in!!!

1.     NYX – Love inParis #9
Merci Beaucoup
I gravitate more towards this pallet. it's so great!!. The pigmentation on these shadows are really good too. It has shimmery and matte neutrals, gold, and rust colors.

2.     NYX – Love inParis #10
Je Ne Sais Quoi
This pallet I would use more for a night time look. Although I do grab it for the matte black a lot. It has shimmer and matte browns, cream, silver, and plum.

The only bad thing about the NYX pallets is that they have mineral oil in them. Mineral oil is not a good thing to put on your face. Check it out and see how you feel after you know what all its used for..
(Hint: it’s used on cars… ick)

3.     SoniaKashuk – Eye on Neutral #2
This pallet is an all matte pallet. These are soooo pigmented and are extremely blendable. I love using this pallet as my base colors, and if I'm not feeling like I want a lot of shimmer.
It’s Fragrance and paraben free!!!

 4. Sonia Kashuk - Moroccan Dunes- Limited Edition
This one... oh man!!.. Where do I begin!?!?!
This pallet is GORGEOUS!!!!! It has metal hues of burnished browns, metallic mauve, prismatic pink and rose gold. Very pigmented and glides on so beautifully, plus it's buildable and will add the perfect shimmer to any look!!!!

It's on sale at Target right now.. so it might be hard to find, I suggest buying it if you find it you will not be disappointed.!

So these are all my favorites right now. I hope you enjoy and hope this give you an idea of some new shadows to try!!

You can by the NYX pallets at Ulta.

July Birchbox Review!

PowerPlay
Alright first things first, This month’s birchbox theme is Power Play.
The insert card says this
“This month’s box is dedicated to helping you take control of any situation, and to make the most of every minute - on the clock or off duty. We’ve even called in the experts – namely the characters of USA’s hit series SUITS – who were the inspiration for some of this month’s samples. Try their picks and don’t forget to tune into the season premiere….”
So let’s jump right on in to our first item!!

I hadn’t heard of this product. Which is good, I like the fact that I’m finding out about new products. So I did a little digging and this is what I found about this product.
If you struggle with finicky skin, you’ve probably dreamed of a silver bullet that could solve all of your complexion problems at once. While that’s a bit of a stretch, Dr. Jart’s powerhouse cream is as close as any single product can come. Enhanced with a megadose of ceramides—the lipid molecules found lacking in severely dry skin—Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream combats roughness, redness, and irritation and moisturizes for up to 26 hours. Pretty miraculous, huh?” – Birchbox.com
This is a product I would use more during the winter. I’m not usually dry during the summer but this is something to try.

“This is a Sulfate-free leave-in conditioner that safeguards color and protects against UV rays”
This product is 100% vegan, gluten free, paraben free.
Made of natural conditioners -- including black currant, soy yogurt, algae, and yerba mate. Restores hydration to dry hair, and repairs damaged caused by heat and chemical.
I use a leave-in conditioner most every time I wash my hair. So this product is right up my alley!

“A nondrying, deep-cleaning mask packed with purifying China Clay”
This is a detoxifying mask that removes dead cells and dirt without leaving the skin feeling taut and dry.
Golden root helps skin look younger by reducing the oxidative stress placed on your cells as they age.

I LOVE mud masks. I’m not sure what it is, but this always makes me feel relaxed and refreshed. I can’t wait to try this product out!

Swiss Dot(peachy)

“…This is a budge proof pigment that lasts from sunup to sundown”
This is a powder that leaves behind a lasting stain, it blends in to your skin seamlessly.

It’s like they knew I was looking for blushes. This color is something I’m not sure I’d pick out for myself but I actually really like it.

And Last but not Least....

I’m so excited to try this product! Anything new to try for an exfoliation I’m all for it!!
“Made from finely ground Pomegranate peels, this scrub brightens and declogs without any irritation”
Brightens skin tone and encourages cell renewal, it also is a natural antiseptic qualities help clear blocked pores.
You just add this to your daily cleanser and wash your face normally.

I would say that this months Birchbox is a success!
I'm excited to try all these products and see how I like them.
